Pressure Cleaning in Redland Bay
Redland Bay takes its name from the red volcanic soil that once made it one of Brisbane’s market-garden districts. Anyone with a driveway here knows the downside. In a summer storm that red soil splashes out of the garden beds and washes across the concrete. It leaves rusty-orange staining along slab edges, at the bottom of retaining walls and around downpipes. A quick hose just spreads it around.
The suburb stretches about 13 km along southern Moreton Bay, from Victoria Point down towards the Logan River, and the housing changes a lot along the way. There are low-set brick and weatherboard homes near the foreshore, newer estates, older Queenslanders, waterfront homes around Point Talburpin, and rural-residential blocks out towards Mount Cotton and Carbrook. Redland Bay is one of our regular suburbs, and these are the jobs we see most.
Red soil and tannin staining on concrete. Soil stains need the right pre-treatment and a surface cleaner, not just more pressure. We treat the stained areas, clean the whole slab evenly so you don’t end up with patches, and rinse down to the street. If staining keeps coming back, sealing the concrete makes the next clean much easier. We can quote that at the same time.
Salt air on the bayside. Homes near the Esplanade and the creeks pick up a salty, grimy film on windows, balustrades, Colorbond fences and render. Combined with the humidity, it holds dirt and gives mould a foothold. We soft wash walls and painted surfaces at low pressure and can add exterior window cleaning on the same visit.
Boats, trailers and the ferry life. With the Weinam Creek ferry terminal running to Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra islands, plus boat ramps along the foreshore, plenty of Redland Bay driveways have a boat or trailer parked on them. That usually means oil drips, rust marks and tyre scuffs. We pre-treat oil with a degreaser before the main clean.
Older Queenslanders and weatherboard. Painted timber, chamferboards and lattice need a gentle clean. Too much pressure lifts paint and strips old timber. We soft wash these homes at low pressure, take care around older windows and stumps, and let the cleaning solution do the work.
Acreage and bigger blocks. Long driveways, sheds and shady stretches of fence under gum trees are normal out on the rural-residential side. We bring commercial surface cleaners sized for big areas.
We also work in Victoria Point, Thornlands, Mount Cotton, Carbrook and Cleveland. Every job is covered by $20 million public liability insurance, and the price is agreed before we start.

Redland Bay Pressure Cleaning FAQs
Can you get red soil stains off my driveway?
In most cases, yes. Most red soil and tannin staining comes out with the right pre-treatment and an even surface clean. Stains that have soaked deep into old, unsealed concrete may lighten a lot without disappearing completely. We’ll tell you honestly what to expect when we quote. Sealing afterwards helps stop the stains from soaking back in.
We live near the water. How often should the house be washed?
Homes close to the bay usually build up grime faster because of salt and humidity. As a guide, we recommend a full exterior clean every 12 to 18 months for most Brisbane homes. Waterfront and heavily shaded homes may need it more often. We can look at your place and suggest a schedule that suits it.
Can you clean around a boat or caravan parked on the driveway?
Yes, but the best result comes when the driveway is clear. If the boat or van can be moved for the day, we’ll clean the whole slab, including the oil and rust marks underneath. If it can’t be moved, let us know when you book and we’ll work around it.
